Client Testimonials
“The Idea Hive’s “unconferencing” session and concept mapping brought our conference fully to life on the first day. Delegates from seventy-three countries were engaging in meaningful conversations, supported and recorded by The Idea Hive’s team of facilitators, that lasted throughout the six day event and beyond.” — Kirstin Miller, Conference Director, Ecocity World Summit 2008
Selected projects include:
The Idea Hive facilitated the “Business Plan Jam”, a brainstorming and presentation workshop. Some three dozen students and Green MBA faculty members participated in the full-day event, which was designed to give current Green MBA students experience in business plan idea generation, refinement, and development. The following year, our “Good Idea?” workshop helped MBA students focus on creativity and innovation for new sustainable businesses.
The Idea Hive led an introductory session at the Academic portion of the EcoCity World Summit 2008 conference in San Francisco. We guided a visioning exercise with attendees and convened a brainstorming breakout among the 300 participating academics, urban planners and other thought leaders in the Green City movement. Ideas elicited from the session were posted for attendees to examine and comment upon during the rest of the conference.
The Idea Hive created a report on businesses and organizations concerned with economic, social, and environmental justice that serves as a base for new strategic initiatives for the Institute.
The Idea Hive conducted a workshop of Sustainable Innovation for Small Business presented by Urban Solutions SF, a non-profit that fosters the well-being of disadvantaged communities by helping to increase neighborhood commercial vitality, strengthen small businesses, create jobs and encourage diversity. Some two dozen small business owners and others participated in the session, which was designed to introduce the challenges and opportunities of conducting a sustainable business in San Francisco today and into the future.
